About this event
Four musicians walk into a room carrying everything they have ever heard, forgotten, absorbed, and transformed. Jay Sanders bends guitar melody through angles that seem to arrive from somewhere outside the visible spectrum. Will Boyd moves between reeds and winds and an EWI that opens into frequencies shaped by South Carolina churches and whatever comes after them.
Zack Page supplies the gravitational center, the low mass around which everything else finds its orbit. Alan Hall has been in conversation with rhythm for four decades, and he approaches percussion less like timekeeping than like an investigation into what lives inside the smallest units of a beat. Together these four build original music in the room, in the moment, from attention and instinct and years of accumulated listening.
