Asheville municipal golf course certified as Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary
By Local Asheville news desk
The City of Asheville's Municipal Golf Course is now certified as an Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary.
This recognition comes after community participation in Audubon International’s BioBlitz and the course management team's efforts to support the environment.
The course has implemented measures such as an in-ground soil sensor system and a fertilizer plan, which have reduced water consumption by 50% and fertilizer needs by nearly 20%.
